The Board voted unanimously to enact a 180-day moratorium prohibiting the county from receiving applications for residential rezonings as defined in UDC Chapters 11 and 20(B), effective May 15 through November 11, 2025. The action followed the Forsyth County Board of Education’s April 15, 2025 resolution expressing alarm over residential growth and its impact on schools and county infrastructure.
