Happy Friday you all. For those of you who are new to FOLO. Fridays are for happy thoughts, happy posts, and starting our weekend off on a good note. I try to share some of the wisdom I’ve come to know in hopes of bettering at least one person’s day. Today I’m going to talk about emotions, and other people’s actions.
People make the best decisions they are equipped to make at the time they make them. Nobody goes out and purposely makes bad decisions. Equipped with your experience, perspective, and knowledge, they likely would make the same decision you would.
I’m agnostic, but the Bible does have some wonderful insight into living a fulfilling life.
“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”
Holding onto anger, animosity, an disdain for those that do you wrong, doesn’t hurt the folks who wronged you. It only hurts yourself, and keeps you from living a happy and fulfilled life. You don’t have to forget, you don’t have to make yourself susceptible to repeat hurt, however, you MUST forgive the people who do you wrong. Not at all for them. You forgive for yourself. You forgive for the folks who love you want want to see you smile.
I see a lot of people who complain about others who do things they deem intolerable. I must say, these are my least favorite posts, but as an admin who doesn’t want to micromanage, I let you be you. Know this though, your anger, your disdain, and your animosity towards those people does not affect their life in the least. It steals your happiness passing judgement on others.
A good way I’ve learned to deal with the actions of others that I do not approve of is to make up a story in my head to justify their actions. Whether that story is the actual case or not, it allows me not to experience negative emotions and move on living my life with a smile. This is an NLP technique for programming yourself for success. Our minds are computers, our experiences program us. If you leave it to life to program how you feel about things, you will be a product of your environment with no control of your one life. Take charge, live the best life you can, and be the best version of yourself.
Happy Friday. Love you all.
