Happy Friday Everyone! For those of you who may be new around here, Happy Friday is a day to control the input you allow into your mind. Happy in, happy out. For the sake of this group, I ask everyone to keep their posts positive on Fridays, take some time to give thanks to someone, reach out to an old friend or family member you haven’t talked to in awhile and remind them that they’re loved, celebrate a success, or praise outstanding service with our community. I also like to speak on things that are important to me, that I feel help others.
Today is a big day! We finally hit 30k members, a huge milestone! One I’m super excited about. The more active members we have, the more effective our ability to post here becomes, so Thank you all for being here! I hope to use this platform to help as many people as possible.
A few inspirational quotes to lead into what I’d like to talk about today.
“Failure is success in progress.” – Einstein
“Change begins at the end of your comfort zone.” -Roy T Bennett
“When you change your perspective towards this world, you find happiness everywhere.” -Saga Valsalan
Not one person has ever succeeded at everything their first time.
Not one person can say they’ve never failed at something.
Not one person will experience a life free from hardship.
My life is no different. I’ve failed more times than I can remember, survived several heartbreaks, goofed a time or two, and experienced losses nobody my age should have to. 8 or so years ago, I stumbled upon a field of study called Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP for short. Used in many areas of life from dating, to business, to competitive sports, I wanted to use it to help with my portrait photography which was my motivation for taking the time to learn. Recently single after 6 years taken, I decided to use my free time to be better at what I’m passionate about. Along the way, I learned a mindset that has given me the mental tools to face life head-on with a smile on my face.
Not only did it help me become a much better portrait photographer, it’s given me the ability to manage my own perspective of the experiences I face every day, and consciously decide how I feel about them before they become a part of my programming. Thus consciously programming myself to be how I want to be, and to feel how I want to feel. Happy, motivated, loving, & helpful. I find meaning in using my knowledge to edify others.
So, I have a good reason for talking about myself that much. Really I do. It is to hopefully inspire at least one person in need of a nudge to do something for themselves. Something that can’t be taken away, and something I find invaluable in my life. Dedicate some time to learning to understand yourself and others. You have CEU’s for work, this is CEU’s for life.
I found a few super short NLP books that adequately wet the feet of a listener to equip them with a basic understanding of how NLP works, and how to apply it in their lives. In my experience, when I send someone a 4-12 hour book, they don’t listen to it, so these are just over 45 minutes each. Short enough to listen to on a car ride across town. I want you all to experience happiness. You don’t know what you don’t know, and if you’ve never lent your ear to NLP knowledge, I believe you’re missing out. You’ll find a link to add these to your audible download list here.
